2025 Nancy Malinowski Award
About
Each year, Mercy High School presents the Nancy Malinowski Award to a senior who excels as a multi-sport athlete, while also demonstrating outstanding academic performance, leadership, sportsmanship, and character. This award honors Nancy “Mal” Malinowski, our beloved former athletic director and a trailblazing multi-sport athlete, who dedicated her life to building and supporting Mercy Athletics.
This year, we are proud to recognize two recipients of this prestigious award.
Maeve Casey

Our first recipient has made a tremendous impact throughout her time at Mercy. A standout in two varsity sports at Mercy and a third outside of school, she has consistently led by example—on the field, in the classroom, and within our school community.
Maeve's accomplishments include:
-
5 All-Catholic honors,
-
4 All-State recognitions,
-
4 Scholar-Athlete awards,
-
And a vital role in helping her teams win three State Championships.
She is the kind of athlete who makes everyone around her better—through her effort, her encouragement, and her unwavering commitment to her teammates and school. Congratulations, Maeve!
Mackenzie Conway

Mackenzie has been a consistent and dominant presence in two varsity sports throughout all four of her years at Mercy. Her performance and leadership have played a key role in shaping the success of her teams and inspiring those around her.
Over the course of her career, she has:
-
Captured an incredible 6 CHSL Championships,
-
Earned 5 All-Catholic selections,
-
Been recognized with 3 All-League honors,
-
Achieved First Team All-State recognition four times,
-
And received multiple All-American honors at the national level.
In addition to her individual accolades, she has been instrumental in helping her team win two MHSAA State Championships—a testament not only to her skill, but to her impact as a teammate and competitor.
She was named a finalist for the Catholic League Athlete of the Year, further highlighting the respect she’s earned across the league. And just recently, she reached an incredible milestone that will leave a lasting legacy—not only at Mercy but across the entire state—becoming the MHSAA all-time leader in career saves.
This athlete’s drive, focus, and resilience have been unmatched. But just as importantly, she has led with humility, represented Mercy with pride, and shown what it truly means to be a scholar-athlete in every sense.
Congratulations, Mackenzie—you have made Mercy history and left a legacy that will be remembered for years to come.
