HIGH SCHOOL PLACEMENT TEST
Eighth grade students interested in attending Mercy must take the High School Placement Test. Cost of the HSPT is $50. HSPT registration is open through the AOD. All students must register online here to take the HSPT. Students have through the Thursday before each test to register or make changes online.

HSPT TESTING DAY INFORMATION
  • The High School Placement test, measuring proficiency in English, reading, vocabulary, math, problem solving and science, is administered to eighth grade students. Test results and school records determine acceptance to Mercy High School. Students may only test one time.
  • There is a $50 fee to take the placement test. You may pay online via credit card with your registration. Payments via cash or checks payable to Mercy High School will be accepted testing day.
  • Please arrive at 7:30am for check-in and testing begins at 8:00am. Enter Mercy by doors nearest flagpole, 11 Mile side of school.
  • Have two sharpened #2 pencils.
  • A snack will be provided during the break.
  • NO calculators allowed.
  • *If you have an accommodation plan, please register in advance and email Learning Support Specialist Kristine Daley at kdaley@mhsmi.org. Walk-in accommodation testing will not be permitted. Students requesting accommodations must have an application completed for Mercy High School.

HIGH SCHOOL PLACEMENT TEST PREP COURSE AT MERCY

The HSPT Prep Course program will focus entirely on preparing eighth graders for the November 19th and the December 3rd placement test in the Archdiocese of Detroit. The program includes one 3-hour session. Students can earn better grades, score higher on the High School Placement Test, and earn scholarships. They will be more motivated and confident because they have the tools to succeed! The course will be facilitated by Mrs. Zena Samona-Ibrahim ’96 and focuses on helping students acquire greater expertise in reading, verbal, math, and test taking skills.
