Giving to the Mercy Endowment Fund
The Mercy Endowment Fund furthers our mission by providing funding for scholarships and financial aid, faculty and staff enrichment, technology, and special projects. This fund ensures that Mercy has a permanent source of money for its future growth. Help us secure the future of Mercy High School by making a gift to our Endowment Fund.
The Circle of Mercy: Create a Named Scholarship
A named scholarship may be established in memory or honor of a particular person. Donors in the past have chosen to honor family members, a beloved Mercy Educator, among others. Similar to an endowed fund, a scholarship can be established with a minimum gift of $25,000 and funded in a variety of ways: a single gift; a series of gifts over several years; or a planned gift from the estate of the donor. This special group of donors will be welcomed as members of the Circle of Mercy and invited to our annual Circle of Mercy donor event. Donors who establish endowed scholarships or make a long-term commitment to financial assistance may be able to meet the specific student that they are sponsoring.
Creating an Endowed Fund
You also have the opportunity to create an endowed fund in the support of a particular department or program at Mercy High School. In the summer of 2016, the Nancy Malinowski Endowed Fund for Athletics was established and the income on the investment of that fund will be used to support the extensive athletics programs available to Mercy students. Similar funds may be created for a particular academic department or extra-curricular program. An endowed fund may be established with a minimum gift of $25,000 and funded in a variety of ways: a single gift; a series of gifts over several years; or a planned gift from the estate of the donor.

Are you a Marlin and Shamrock family? Recently, a generous donation from the Doris J. Duchene and Donald L. Duchene Sr. Foundation was received to start an endowed scholarship that supports families with a Mercy daughter and a Catholic Central son.
Once the fund reaches the threshold required, families may apply. Eligibility includes:
- Families dedicated to Catholic education
- Financial need
- A daughter enrolled at Mercy High School and a son enrolled at Detroit Catholic Central simultaneously
