Class of 2024 Valedictorian & Salutatorians

We are proud to congratulate the Class of 2024 Valedictorian, Salutatorians & Finalists. This distinction considers academic record, leadership, service and extracurricular involvement; as well as staff and Senior Class input. Hats off to these extraordinary young Mercy women who inspired and lifted our spirits with their innovative thinking, outstanding achievements and ambitious aspirations!

Valedictorian: Alexis Rounds

Copley Latin Day 2024 at University of Michigan

On April 10, nearly 50 Mercy Latin students attended the tenth annual Copley Latin Day at the University of Michigan. Students attended a college lecture on "Ancient Skies, Stellar Stories, Heavenly Mathematics" from Prof. Francesca Schironi, and they also analyzed ancient Roman papyrus in UM's Papyrology Lab, which is the largest papyrus collection in North America. 2024 State Solo & Ensemble Vocal Competition

The Mercyaires received the highest rating of Excellent for State Solo and Ensemble Festival and earned a perfect score for their sight reading skills. In addition, Excellent ratings (blue medals) were earned by Erin Ikwechegh, Rebecca Morgan and Dorothy Propson. Good ratings (red medals) were earned by London Smith and Shaniel Smith. Great job, singers!

2024 Sutton Foster Award Nominees

Bravo to Bryce Costa '25 and Kierah Streather '24 who were both nominated as Outstanding Performer in a Lead Role for the Sutton Foster Awards for their performances in “Frozen”. These two stellar performers are eligible to attend an intensive workshop and audition weekend as well as a Showcase of talent at the Wharton Center in East Lansing. Additionally, they may be chosen to compete at the Jimmy Awards, also known as the National High School Music Theatre Awards in New York City. 

2024 Optimist Leadership Award

Maggie Geraghty '25 received the 2024 Optimist Leadership Award from the Farmington/Farmington Hills Breakfast Optimist Club. This award is designed to recognize Juniors who have demonstrated leadership skills and human relationship development. Congratulations, Maggie!

Falvo Family Scholarship - Class of 2025

Class of 2025 & Parents/Guardians:

A merit scholarship is available for a rising Mercy senior. The Falvo Family Scholarship was created in 2021 by two Mercy alumnae, Michele Falvo Kendall '94 and Dana Falvo Haller '00, in memory of their father, Jack Falvo, who coached softball at Mercy for many years and passed away in 2014. The scholarship will award one Mercy Junior $1,000 toward her Senior year tuition. All those who qualify are encouraged to apply.

Action Alert: Non-Public Schools Safety and Mental Health Funds in Jeopardy

Nonpublic schools across Michigan will lose $18 million in school safety and mental health funding if the current state budget proposal is approved, prompting the Michigan Catholic Conference and the Michigan Association of Nonpublic Schools to issue an Action Alert to grassroots advocates.

Sports Physicals Offered at Mercy

Henry Ford physicians and athletic trainers will be conducting comprehensive sports physicals that meet MHSAA requirements.
