Mercy track meet
Farmington Hills Mercy had four individual winners and a first-place relay team Tuesday in a 69-59 loss to Livonia Ladywood in girls track and field.
In the sprints, Ogechi Nwaopara and Hannah Blakey won the 100- and 200-meter dashes in 14.87 and 30.42 seconds, respectively.

The Farmington Hills Mercy softball team kept its unblemished record rolling Tuesday in a doubleheader victory against Livonia Ladywood in a pair of games called by mercy rule despite some on-again, off-again weather that varied between cool rain and bright sun.

Farmington Hills – Slugging for the fences is Alex Sobczak’s specialty.
Sobczak, a senior infielder at Farmington Hills Mercy who signed with Michigan, is State Champs’ No. 1 player for 2015 and she’s become quite accustomed to blasting pitches out of the park.

Three of Farmington Hills Mercy’s top athletes in girls track and field will be seniors Allysen Eads and Ogechi Nwaopara and sophomore Arianna Allman.
Eads is a veteran distance runner who was a two-time state qualifier and all-area selection in cross country. She was third in the Catholic League in the 1,600-meter run.

Farmington Hills Mercy got the 2015 softball season off to a good start Tuesday, sweeping a Catholic League doubleheader from Central Division rival Warren Regina, 7-1 and 10-0.
Junior Abby Krzywiecki went 3-for-3 with three RBI and was the winning pitcher in the first game. She scattered five hits, struck out six and walked three.

If everything falls into place as coach Butch Babler hopes it will, Farmington Hills Mercy could have an outstanding 2015 season in girls soccer.
The pieces to that puzzle are just about in place, and there isn’t a lot of tweaking that needs to be done.

Taylor Jones scored a career-high 37 points in Farmington Hills Mercy's come-from-behind victory over host Detroit Renaissance in a Class A district tournament game Monday in girls basketball, 63-58.

Taylor Jones and Siyeh Frazier turned the opening game of the girls basketball state tournament into their version of anything-you-can-do-I-can-do-better.
Up and down the court they went. If Frazier scored for Detroit Renaissance, then Jones felt compelled to immediately answer with a basket for Farmington Hills Mercy.

Farmington Hills Mercy had just the kind of basketball game coach Gary Morris wanted for his team before going into postseason play next week.
That was a good, competitive game against a quality opponent and which resulted in a nice, comfortable victory for the Marlins.
