One Love Workshop Information for Seniors
March 15 & March 16

Dear Mercy Senior Parent/Guardian,

Please note the following information was sent to the Senior Class in regard to participating in an upcoming workshop. Mercy and U of D have partnered to provide the One Love Foundation "The Escalation Workshop" experience to our young women and men to equip them with the necessary tools to navigate relationships as they transition to college.

Click here for the One Love Foundation resource guide "Start the Conversation: How adults can talk to the young people in their lives about healthy and unhealthy relationships."

Thank you,
Mercy Administrative Team
Hello Seniors,

Did you know 94% of us will never perpetrate violence against our partner, yet 1 in 3 women and 1 in 4 men are in a violent relationship in his or her lifetime because we stay silent about this issue.

Monday (3/15 KC) and Tuesday (3/16 SF) you will be participating in a workshop, provided by the One Love foundation, called The Escalation Workshop with the Senior Class from University of Detroit Jesuit over Zoom. The workshop consists of an introduction and video that all of you will view together and then a group discussion facilitated by your peers, who have been trained by One Love.

Although we are no longer using the Cohort designations, you will attend the workshop with your previously designated Cohort. Here are a few reminders for the One Love workshop on your assigned day. You will attend 1st , 2nd and part of 3rd hours. You will be called down to the auditorium around 10:00 a.m. Please bring all your belongings with you. You will join 5th hour after the workshop.

Enter the Auditorium and follow the directions from the staff members:
  • We are strictly adhering to social distancing guidelines and therefore you will sit 6 feet apart from your classmates
  • Neatly drop your book bag and other belongings at your feet
  • You will be eating lunch in the auditorium AFTER the video. There will be time for you to QUICKLY grab lunch from the cafeteria
Leaders only:
  • Take your belongings with you to the Counseling Conference Room
  • You will have an opportunity to Zoom with the U of D Leaders for any last minute coordination
In case you want more info...

One Love, joinonelove.org, is a foundation that operates through a multi-layered education, awareness and movement-building campaign that surrounds young people with messages about healthy and unhealthy relationships. The Escalation Workshop is one of the workshops offered by One Love. Mercy and U of D have partnered to provide this experience to our young women and men to equip you with the necessary tools to navigate relationships as you transition to college.
