Senior Class Four Day In-Person Instruction March 1, 2021

SENIOR CLASS FOUR DAY IN-PERSON INSTRUCTION
MONDAY, MARCH 1, 2021

Dear Senior Parent/Guardian,

We are beyond pleased to welcome our Senior students back to four day in-person instruction this Monday, March 1, followed by all other grade level students on Monday, March 15.

We are proud of the courage and resilience our students have shown over the past year as they navigated their studies, activities, friendships and other challenges. Senior year is an important experience and we are planning diligently to make the rest of the semester one the Class of 2021 will remember fondly. To begin, we will celebrate the Seniors return throughout the first week back with special experiences. On Monday, they will unite in prayer in the auditorium at 8:00 am. Our teachers realize the need to allow our students time to reconnect and we have also formed a student committee to help plan fun activities.

Your student will receive an email with detailed instructions for Monday’s return. Our safety strategy continues to include the familiar health protocols: adherence to 6 ft social distancing, masks, disinfecting and hand washing. For this reason, we will not be able to support the traditional unscheduled class off-hours or open lunches. Currently, our daily schedule will remain intact and we ask students for their support as these measures allow us to safely resume in-person instruction. Modifications to our daily schedule will eventually be required to accommodate two lunch hours once all students return on Monday, March 15.

It is essential that ill students who cannot pass the daily COVID-19 symptom tracker stay home. Any COVID-19 illness or exposure should continue to be reported to the Dean of Student Affairs, Mrs. Eleasha Tarplin at edtarplin@mhsmi.org.

Thank you for your continued prayers as we together celebrate this significant milestone!

In Mercy,

The Mercy Administration
