Search for new Mercy HS President & Community Survey

Dear Mercy Community,

I am writing to you in my capacity as Chair of the Mercy High School Board of Trustees to notify you of the opportunity you have to express your opinion regarding the next President of Mercy High School.

As you know, Dr. Cheryl Delaney Kreger '66 will be retiring from her position as President in July of 2026. We are very grateful to Dr. Kreger for her extraordinary leadership and wisdom over the past 16 years.

I am pleased to report that we have retained the services of Carney, Sandoe & Associates (CS&A), a consulting firm with significant experience in independent and Catholic school leadership search. Barbara Daush, a senior consultant in the Catholic Schools Practice and a former head of an all-girls Catholic School in Memphis, TN, and Karen Neitzel, the head of their international practice will be leading the search for CS&A. Barbara and Karen are excited about working with us and look forward to meeting members of our community.

The search process we are planning, supported by Carney, Sandoe & Associates, is protocol-driven and built on extensive constituent engagement throughout. Barbara Daush and Karen Neitzel will be visiting our campus tomorrow, Tuesday, September 16th and will be meeting with key constituents including faculty, staff, parents, students, and alumnae. The schedule includes a series of private meetings to acquaint Barbara and Karen with our school and the opportunities and challenges confronting us and our new leader in the months and years ahead.

In conjunction with their visit, I invite you to complete an important community survey here. This survey seeks your input on a variety of key issues affecting our school, as well as your reflections on what you value most about Mercy High School and the leadership qualities and qualifications you hope to see in our next President. I strongly encourage you to take a few minutes to share your perspective.

On behalf of the Board of Trustees, I thank you for your support. This is an exciting opportunity and we look forward to your assistance throughout the search process and beyond.

Sincerely,

Sharon Sanderson

Board Chair, Mercy High School Board of Trustees
