Junior Andrea Elmore pitched her second four-hit victory in as many days to lead Farmington Hills Mercy to the championship of the Gibraltar Carlson softball tournament Saturday.
She threw a complete game and struck out 10 as the Marlins defeated the host Marauders in the final game, 5-1. She issued only one walk in seven innings.

Farmington Hills Mercy earned its first Catholic League dual-meet victory in girls track and field Tuesday with a 76-52 win over visiting Birmingham Marian.
The Marlins swept four events, taking the top three places in the high jump, discus and the 1,600- and 3,200-meter runs, to offset the Mustangs winning three of four relays.

The 2015 Observer & Eccentric Academic All-Star Team represents the most accomplished students from public, private and parochial schools in Oakland and western Wayne counties.
This year’s team has 30 students to mark the 30th year of the All-Star program. Seventeen team members posted 4.0 grade-point averages in high school and perfect ACT and/or SAT scores

Annie Leuker of Milford was one of 17 recipients of Girl Scout’s highest honor – The Gold Award.
The awards were presented April 26 at Girl Scouts of Southeastern Michigan’s annual Honor Reception. The Gold Award is presented to senior and ambassador level Girl Scouts who display exemplary service to their communities and beyond.

Emma Feeheley will give up her Miss Farmington title in July but is gaining a new one, Miss Texas — sort of.
The 17-year-old Mercy High School junior has landed a role in the independent film, Crowning Jules, produced by Miles Media. Her part, "Miss Texas," is expected to take about a week to film this summer in Indiana.

Mercy track meet
Farmington Hills Mercy had four individual winners and a first-place relay team Tuesday in a 69-59 loss to Livonia Ladywood in girls track and field.
In the sprints, Ogechi Nwaopara and Hannah Blakey won the 100- and 200-meter dashes in 14.87 and 30.42 seconds, respectively.

The Farmington Hills Mercy softball team kept its unblemished record rolling Tuesday in a doubleheader victory against Livonia Ladywood in a pair of games called by mercy rule despite some on-again, off-again weather that varied between cool rain and bright sun.

Sobczak, a senior infielder at Farmington Hills Mercy who signed with Michigan, is State Champs’ No. 1 player for 2015 and she’s become quite accustomed to blasting pitches out of the park.
