Mercy’s hockey team has supplanted itself as one of the best squads in the history of the Michigan Metro Girls High School Hockey League after beating perennial state power Grosse Pointe South 4-2 in the championship game Saturday afternoon at Fraser Hockeyland.
The Marlins, winners of 20 games this season, needed a come-from-behind effort to knock the defending champs off the thrown.

This year's spring musical at Mercy High School has been in the works for nearly seven years.
It started after Anne MacDougall, the school's performing arts chair, saw "Newsies" when a traveling production came to Detroit in 2012. She then knew her students just had to perform the show.
