Quiz Bowl Nationals 2021
Over Memorial Day weekend, Mercy Quiz Bowl competed in the NAQT High School National Championship Tournament. Only the top 15% of teams are invited to this tournament, and Mercy was one of 10 Michigan schools that qualified.
Mercy first qualified for the HSNCT in 2020, but it was cancelled due to the pandemic. The team worked very hard to qualify again, and so 2021 was the first year Mercy was able to compete in this tournament.
Nancy Malinowski was honored for 42 years of service in the Catholic League by the AOD! Her outstanding commitment and dedication to student athletes is exemplary. Mal's talent and devotion has defined the excellence of the Mercy Athletic program. Congrats, Mal!
Mercy Teacher of the Year Mr. Chris Janusch won the Bishop John M. Quinn Archdiocese of Detroit Teacher of the Year Award for 2020-21! Mr. Janusch was selected as the overall award winner from all of the AOD high school nominees. He is a teacher, mentor, coach and supporter extraordinaire to our entire community. Congratulations, Mr. Janusch!

Record Breaking Jump!
Congratulations Abby Fush '22 on breaking the Mercy High School Long Jump record with a jump of 17' 6.5" at the Mark Carpenter Invitational! She has also set personal records in the 100- and 300-meter hurdles this season.
