GRADUATION CEREMONY - July 19, 11am at CC Stadium
July 15, 2020
Dear Class of 2020 Parents/Guardians,
Congratulations on the many accomplishments of your Mercy 2020 graduate! We are pleased to share in this celebration with you and hope you received your parent letter and tickets for the Sunday, July 19 Class of 2020 graduation ceremony.
Although attendance is restricted due to our compliance with Governor Whitmer's Executive Orders concerning large gatherings, this celebration will be virtually live-streamed for family and friends to join in via the Mercy website here.
In order to provide a safe and enjoyable experience for all, please be aware of the following procedures for graduation:
- Senior Moderators emailed your daughter important graduate directions and details for the day which can be found here. This includes dress code, arrival, procession and more. Please be sure they check their Mercy email for these instructions.
- Graduates can begin arriving at 10:00am and must be present by 10:30am. The location is Catholic Central High School Fr. Richard Elmer Stadium (27225 Wixom Rd, Novi, MI 48374) and will open for parent/guardian seating at 10:30am. Click here for field overview and layout.
- Please place a card with your graduate's name on your dashboard to assist as we check in cars upon arrival.
- All graduates should be dropped off at Door 9, which will be clearly labeled. Students will enter the gym for the line-up, and must wear a mask prior to entering the building.
- Visitor parking is available in any lot.
- Guests will enter the stadium via the south entrance gate ONLY. Staff volunteers will collect the admission tickets. Masks are mandatory for all guests for entry.
- Separate directions were sent to families who bid on box seats at the Auction.
- Graduates will be supplied with water, but you are welcome and encouraged to bring your own water bottle.
Once you have entered the stadium, all spectators are welcome to sit on either set of the bleachers. Shamrock markers will indicate spaced seating for each household at the appropriate social distancing standards. For the safety of all guests, please adhere to these seating arrangements.
Thank you for your part in making this ceremony special and beautiful for our graduates.
With many prayers for your daughter's continued success,
Mercy Administration & Senior Class Moderators

IMPORTANT DATES
Administration has put much effort into preserving as much of your senior end of the year experiences as we could, in some way. When it comes to prom, it is complicated. Prom is indoors, there would be 300+ of you in one facility, and it is impossible to social distance in that space. We changed the date to July 1 hoping that would buy us time. We even waited as long as we could to make a decision on whether that date would be viable, knowing it is up to the governor. Although Gov. Whitmer has moved southeast Michigan to Phase 4, we would need to be at Phase 6 by July 1 for prom to occur.
As you may know, a survey went out to the Class of 2020 about rescheduling Prom to August. Thank you to the 117 students who responded. Your responses were closely split in half between yes and no. We need to guarantee a minimum of 300 people at the Roostertail, so based on those results, Mercy will not host a Prom this year.
We really wanted to give one last opportunity to have a school sponsored Prom, however, it is not feasible with less than half of the Class interested. Thank you for your understanding and support.
