Farmington Hills Mercy tips Bloomfield Hills Academy of the Sacred Heart

Farmington Hills Mercy edged Bloomfield Hills Academy of the Sacred Heart 2-1 in a Michigan High School Field Hockey Association thriller on Tuesday, Sept 8 at Farmington Hills. Mercy improved to 5-2-0 with the victory. Sacred Heart fell to 1-4-1. The game was tied 0-0 at halftime.

Sacred Heart opened the scoring early in the second half on a goal by Sarah Sitto. Mercy evened the game at 1-1 a few minutes later as Cira Lopus scored for Mercy.

With time in regulation running out, Mercy forced a penalty corner. With time expired, Olivia Collins scored teh game winner ona  pass from Julia Henderson on the continuation.

Calli Jansen and Hannah Cohen split the victory in goal for Mercy. Mercy travels to Novi on Friday, Sept 11 at 4:30pm.
