The Mercy Ski Team hosted and competed in the Division 1, Region 3 Championship at Mt. Brighton on February 17th. The Mercy Ski Team fought hard for a frustrating and difficult 4th place finish, narrowly missing the cut to qualify as a team for States. In the morning Slalom session, Junior Mikaela Williams led the team with a third place finish. Miki was supported by Hatcher (11), Koehler (30), and Langley (31). In GS, Miki led the team again with a second place finish. She was supported by Langley (23), Hand (37), and Koehler (50).
Mikaela has received ALL-LEAGUE Honors for her top ten performances. She will compete in the State Finals at Boyne Mountain as an individual representing Mercy High School. Junior Alaina Hatcher also qualified as an individual and will join her teammate at the State Finals on February 28th.
The Mercy team worked very hard all winter and will complete the ski season as a team at the Southeastern Michigan Ski League (SEMSL) Championships at Pine Knob on Tuesday 2/22.
The coaching staff is incredibly proud of all obstacles the team has overcome, especially our graduating seniors, Lauren Swords and Sadie MIllerWright.
