This week was bittersweet as we ended the district meets and our last district competition with Peyton on the team. Luckily, we finished with 346 points, are the District 1 Division D Champions and get to move to Regionals where Peyton and Sophia will compete to advance to States. So, it's not over yet!
Here are the overall standings for Division D Meet 3 and Cumulative:
Mercy - 109 (346)
Cheryl Stockwell Academy - 111 (310)
Walled Lake Central - 81 (260)
Huron Valley Lutheran - 59 (183)
Flex Tech - 27 (62)
West Highland Christian Academy - 8 (25)
Peyton ended the district season with 3-peats (1st place for 3 consecutive meets) and set records in Saddle Seat Equitation, Saddle Seat Pattern, Saddle Seat Bareback, Western Equitation, and Western Bareback.
Sohpia ended the district season by doing something that to our knowledge has never been achieved on the team: 1st place in Trail and 1st place in Hunt Seat Bareback!
The cherry on top: A 3-peat in Trail and Hunt Seat Bareback. Yes, she set a few MVET records too!
Both student-athletes were consistently scoring in the top 3 of their classes which is something to be celebrated!
